A lot of whiskey distilleries focus on traditions passed down years, decades and even centuries. The founders of High Bank Distillery began with a goal to bring a modern, eclectic experience to Columbus, Ohio. Given it’s Columbus’ first distillery to open with a restaurant and a bar attached, they’ve succeeded! It’s safe to say High Bank Distillery has got it all. The bar has enough seating for 200 patrons, including activities like shuffleboard, bubble hockey, foosball, life-size Jenga and cornhole. On the restaurant side, you’ll see a diverse Ohio-sourced menu that includes snacks, sharables, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Everything is made from scratch, including meats and vegetables that are brought in from local farms making it a true farm-to-table experience. Innovation at its finest!
And we haven’t even mentioned the whiskey yet! The Whiskey War Barrel Proof was named the Best Blended Whiskey by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition for 2021. No big deal. And after their Double Oaked Batch #2 sold out in 26 hours, the American Craft Spirits Association voted it the Best Blended Whiskey and Best Whiskey Product in Ohio at the annual Heartland Whiskey Competition. It’s easy to see why High Bank Distillery has a cult following and they’re just getting started! Our first step to determine the Craft Distillery of the Year Award winner was to open up the competition to the public to nominate your favorite craft distillery. From there, an expert panel of judges narrowed the list down to 10 finalists based on these four categories: compelling story, impact on community, marketing presence and branding and packaging. Now we’re turning the competition over to you to determine the distillery you believe deserves to be named the 2021 RackHouse Whiskey Club Craft Distillery of the Year.
